The difference between the fighters that Macklin has been fighting and Pavlik is obscene. The punches may not look like much on screen, but when a fighter in the ring sees and takes punches from fighters far superior than the opposition they have previously been fighting - it shows. Lockett/Pavlik is a great example. If you like I could come up with 1000 others.
Man, nobody considers Martinez one of the best middleweights in the world because he isn't a middleweight.
It's true, it's a stupid fight to take really - win or lose. And there's a very good chance he will lose.
haha of course pavlik saw martinez/williams fight and now wants williams. grow a pair kelly travel to germany and face sturm. clean out the division like i thought he said he would. go get the other titles.
Maybe but he's not going to campaign at middleweight so its not even an issue. I don't think Williams is particularly a nightmare though, as we saw Williams takes one to give back a couple. I don't think that will bother Pavlik who has the genuine middleweight strength and power of the two.
Agreed the person making the most off this fight imo is that Glovokin guy he can take on a fringe contender and let these two battle it out.
Hilariously incorrect in the worst case scenario, and irrelevant in the best case scenario seeing as anyone who would say this are only saying it post-Williams fight. That statement simply can't be made unless he fights at middleweight again and looks great - which he won't.
