If he was ripped he would be fighting at cruiserweight and possibly even draining to light heavy he's that overweight.
They realized how embarrassing it was, he has a good 60-70 pounds to lose, he should be fighting at cruiserweight.
Well, I kinda agree that he should get in better shape but the man is winning and doing okay so its difficult to criticise.
Awful decision. The kid has a very unique look of being "a fat kid...with stupid speed"...should have just said they won't push him too a title until he loses some weight but will keep him active anyway.
It not from top rank, it is from hbo, we don't won't the Goodyear blimp on there network, the one that pays all the bills.
We want knockouts, we want talent, we want memorable fighters and we want excitement...Ruiz brings all of that. Ruiz is as exciting a fighter as the HW division has right now and when you see him you don't forget you've seen him.
So you think at 270 pound Ruiz is going to beat a top 10 hw, and hbo are going to put the money up to make that fight happen
Andy Ruiz is in embarrassing shape. He is supposed to be a top athlete competing in one of the world's toughest sports yet he looks more like he has been competing in eating competitions for the past 4 years.
He isnt a heavyweight. He is a fat Light Heavy/Cruiser, however he cracks the top 10 and he can earn about 10 x what he would at LH/Cr. If I was him I would be fat tbf, its where the money is
Horrible decision...This one of the few situations where its better to be fat at Heavy #1 Chubby people need a hero #2 Ruiz will not be as fast at Light heavyweight or Super Middleweight, dropping him any less than that makes no point of dropping... #3 At heavy he showed good speed and decent power, he seemed most comfortable there #4 His face will wrinkle and lose the vivid look that distinguishes him...if he loses weight Many Mexican Americans look like Ruiz, so as many Americans...truly the peoples champ...
