    but yes, all this could have been avoided had he just been the promoter and revoke manager rights somehow.

    I think he chose not to get a promoter's license as a tactical business decision. Promoters and managers have to operate by different rules and laws about what they can and can't do, or what things they have to disclose to the government. Plus, a lot of fighters make their wives their managers so they can keep a bigger part of their purse which they legally have to split with their manager and promoter. With Haymon getting his cut as the manager he can bring the promoter's price down, and has an unfair advantage when paying fighter's purses. It's like he's eliminated a middleman, and the promoter, who's a promoter in name only is just getting peanuts. It's sort of like how the mob used to hire a frontman to run their casinos for them; someone with a clean record who could pass the background checks and get a license.

    Plus, look at the way the shady **** does business....he doesn't like showing his face, but it's in all his contracts that all his fighters have to keep his name in their mouth before, after, and probably even during fights.....HORRIBLE !!
