I'm kind of curious.... In like the past 10 years how many fights between these two promotional companies did we wish to see and they never happened.
Russell Jr-Lomachenko was the last fight Haymon-TR fight, and that was a result of a purse bid. Same applies to Lara-Martirosyan. Prior to that, I believe Arum did co-promote with Goossen for Margarito-Williams but was unhappy with the result and subsequently wasted everyone's time with failed negotiations for Williams-Pavlik, Williams-Margarito II, and Mayweather-Pacquiao. He's also repeatedly declared he wouldn't work with slime***** like Haymon and has made not working with Haymon a condition of getting fights with any of his guys.
Oscar even apologized to arum so they can make good fights. Arum is a stubborn old man......But pretends like hes the one trying to make the fights. Did Don King come up with this in house fight sh!t or did he learn it from arum?
Ever since the Pacquiao vs. Hatton PPV in mid-2009, the only times they've worked together were these, all purse bids: Gamboa vs. Ponce de Leon Lara vs. Martirosyan Lomachenko vs. Russell Jr.
Gamboa-DPDL wasn't a purse bid but a case of genuine co-promotion during the brief period of cooperation following Donaire arbitration. No Haymon though.
You are correct. My bad... " "That's our priority," duBoef said, who promoted the fight against Ponce De Leon with Golden Boy, the first fight the rival companies have done together since they co-promoted Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton in May 2009.
