Just finished reading this on the scene. I really want GBP to win this ppv as I feel the true evil is arum in all of this.

But...Jr vs maravilla is a sick fight that I can't miss live. Im a huge Canelo fan as well, so I have no clue what I'm going to do, but it is true that top rank have the better fight though.

DuBoef has been making a run for second with all of his empty words after the Pacquiao-Bradley decision.

Chavez/Martinez is the better fight TBH.
Alvarez Vs. Ortiz is a guaranteed KO for Canelo.

arum is right on this one.

how do you announce a fight between two people and one of them still has a fight a couple weeks later to win?

you're practically admitting that you are putting him in with a complete tomato can OR you're just trying to reserve the date ahead of time.

Ortiz and his situation is irrelevant. He was only brought on as a back up back up.

The fact is Canelo was reserved for Sept 15, which weeks later Paul Williams was the determined opponent. Then Williams suffered the accident. So then they brought in Kirkland for the 15th, then the fight fell through.

So they offered it to Ortiz, who happens to have an obstacle that was there before he was even offered the Canelo fight. What obstacle? The obstacle of a fight date that was created due to the fact that Ortiz was suppose to fight Berto around a month or so ago.

.....hence, GBP is the right one in this case.

im actually on Arums side for once. they snagged the date and venue first and this is more of a real fight.

u cant set a fight and date for Ortiz when he already has an opponent lined up.

they need to smarten up and figure out a way to work with eachother.

Arum is a stubborn mule, and shaefer is too proud and hates arum. Both will happen unless Vegas athletic commission or HBO/st step in.

    and if ortiz losses?

or wins but has a cut that'll take a long time to heal?

they reserved the date for canelo-pwill.

    that fight is no more.

    gbp will move.

    1. arum is very stubborn.

    2. chavez-martinez is the better fight. even gbp knows this.

GBP can't be complaining here. Chavez-Martinez was agreed upon aaaaaages ago, and I'm sure HBO were notified of this. Arum did the sensible thing and only announced it after Andy Lee was taken care of. It appears as though Schaefer has unknowingly booked his fight on the same day. Unlucky.

I'll say this, though - Canelo vs. Ortiz will be the more entertaining scrap.

If you feel like Arum is the ONLY promoter you can't trust, then you need to re-evaluate your understanding of what boxing promoters are known for.
