Are you kidding, not even close . GBP is in it for the money only, they suck ass. Of course Calzaghe and 43 year old clinch master and GB partner Hopkins sucked, but the undercard was the worst I have ever seen on a major fight card and ticket prices were in 4 figures and then the undercard on the pathetic DLH Forbes fight is awful also. DLH mentioned his fight with Forbes is non-PPV as his gift to the fans.... that crossdresser is scum. Pavlik, Cotto, Margarito.. balls to the wall fan friendly fighters that Top Rank develops over time.

My Favourite 4 Fighters - Miguel Cotto, Kelly Pavlik, Antonio Margarito & Manny Pacquiao.

Top Rank is the best promoter in the world IMO.

I don't think this is a matter of opinion, but fact. GBP has been promoting the bigger and better fights.

one marquee fight and a bad undercard is not a good promotion

Which one are you referring to?
    Oscar vs Floyd?
    Floyd vs Hatton?
    Vasquez vs Marquez III?
    JMM vs Pac II?
    Calzaghe vs Hopkins?
Oscar vs Floyd II? later this year
Ricky Hatton vs Lazcano? that sold over 50k seats
Mosley vs Judah? later this year

    Which one?

Wait but top rank promoted Margarito/Cintron and Cotto/Gomez :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Anyone picking Top Rank here is out of their minds! Like I said this isn't a matter of opinion.....GBP is winning :deal

with the exception of jmm pac, which was a copromotion with top rank, and marquez vasquez which were competitive fights, and held their own as the marquee events, the others were dissapointments, and i do not care how much money the fights made, because i do not get a cut. as a fan, i want the promoter that will give me a good card top to bottom for my ppv dollar.

and funny you should mention the margarito and cotto recent card. that was a free card, rest assured that dlh would have made that ppv, just like he is going to screw some fans with judah shane on ppv.

and you clearly are a delusional dlh fan if you believe that gbp had anything to do with selling 1 seat for hatton lazcano much less the 50k that you mention.

Yes that was a FREE card. Whether you care to recognize revenue as a measuring stick for success in a promotional company is regardless here because the Golden Boy execs and Bob Arum DO look at that first. And there is no argument that Golden Boy is ahead :deal

making more money does not necessarily make them a better promotional company. by that logic, dlh makes more money than any other fighter, does that make him the best fighter.

quality of cards fighters developed also have to be figured into the equation.

Quality of cards are reflected by how much money they bring in apparantly....sorrry. If you aren't interested in seeing Floyd vs Oscar then don't buy it. If Arum thought there was enough interest in Cotto vs Gomez he would've put it on PPV, but there wasn't so he didn't. How is the best way to gauge success in a promotional company other than creating big fights that everyone wants to see?

Top rank is the best when it comes to developing talent and stars. Let's not forget floyd and oscar was from top rank. Now it is doing the same with its 3 biggest rosters in pavlik, cotto, and pac.

GBP on the other hand is doing a lot of money fights drawing the public using their popular names. Whats more with GBP is their roster mostly of veterans. MAB, oscar, hopkins, mosley, jmm, casa. Remove the veterans and we gotta see how things are with GBP.

i thought marquez-vasquez 3 is not a GBP promotion as both fighters are not with GBP.

And pac-jmm 2 is a joint promotion by GBP and top rank

    Whats better for boxing?

    A. A Floyd/Hatton fight which features a 24/7 series in the build up that attracts thousands of casuals to the sport, even if for only one fight

    OR

    B. Margarito/Cintron - A great fight........but one that nobody sees, in which two guys are fighting that the general public knows nothing about

    ?????????????
