Totally unexpected news, Koelling is Sauerland and Beterbiev is not a TR fighter either, unless they plan to sign him shortly (which seems very unlikely as Beterbiev is a Haymon fighter plus he's fighting GYM in court).
Any promoter can place a bid, I remember Hryunov flew to Panama to place a bid on Klitschko-Fury and scared both sides and forced them to make a deal at the last second.
Now that sounds like a plan. There han't been much consideration that Beterbiev could leave GYM and Haymon for TR, but if this is on an ESPN show and he looks great maybe Bob scoops him up. Get Beterbiev and Gvozdyk on a collission course!
This sounds like brilliant news. I really do believe we're going to see Beterbiev vs Kovalev one day if GYM don't blacklist Beterbiev Mikey Garcia style. If GYM play up again, it's going to go on record and will add further weight to Beterbiev's case against them. They Beterbehave!
That is a bit unexpected. Not sure if this fight will be a one off for Top Rank, probably on ESPN, or they have future plans for Beterbiev(which there hasn't been any rumors of). I do like the non Showtime options for Beterbiev than the Showtime options. Match ups with Ward, Kovalev, Gvozdyk, and Barerra are better looking than matches with Stevenson, Alvarez, and Browne.
Aren't Top Rank and Haymon playing on the same field now? Haymon really doesn't care who promotes as long as he retains his "advisor" role. With the GYM issues, possibly this is a play for Beterbiev. As long as they get him to the ring.......
Yes, agreed, I do think Top Rank want to get Beterbiev. It was highly unlikely and unexpected though.
