I wouldnt say Im in the know mate....however I do get to hear some good tip-bits from time to time :good Now the correct name of the belt up for grabs is this...... "WBA MW World title" :good I didnt make it up nor did choc :tong
...and according to Boxrec, Mundine has only fought 3 genuine MWs in Geale, Falliga and Medley, none of whom appear anywhere in the WBA top 15 MW contenders list :huh :yep So how did he get ranked the WBA's #1 MW contender :think
I know he was chasing a fight with Pavlik because the guy who set it all up for Khoder is a very close friend of mine. One of his boxers and Pavlik have the same manager. Pavliks manager agreed but HBO decided on Martinez. Seems strange you havent mentioned Chocs rating before. He has been rated the top contender for a while now. The reason he is not fighting Sturm is because Felix isnt fighting anyone. When do you think Danny Green will fight for the WBC lightheavy title?
Mate everybody knows that if you are ranked high at say SMW and you move to MW you will keep a similar rank.....maybe just lose a spot or 2 :deal
I think that's fair enough explanation, if you are ranked high in one weight division you wouldn't start from scratch at a higher or lower weight division, that wouldn't make sense.
I am pretty sure it was #2 super middleweight. By moving down and fighting for a regional title gave him his number 1 rating. I think anybody who knows boxing would understand that.
Hope a fight eminates out of all this, and if one does, a good one. My critisism all along with Mundine has been he just plain hasn't stepped up - certainly not until a couple of weeks short of his 35th birthday anyway. Both fighters have virtually never travelled before, and as Marcus said, Choc may well be made to remember earlier politically questionable comments. IMO this will be a valid test for Mundine, and I'd like to see him take the opportunity with both hands!
Agree with this mate....not sure how good Golovkin is but would rate this fight number 3 behind the Kess and Ottke fights....only time will tell if Golovkin who was the world AM champ is better than Kess or Ottke
Well balmain, despite your posts not being addressed to anyone in particular, I can see that you're still trying to take little digs at me, which in combination with your reply to my posts last week indicates that you have not accepted my apology. That's your choice, I've cleared my conscience.
