Top ten best fights of the 2000's

Gatti vs Ward I above Barrera vs Morales...blows 'ma maver****in mind.

Good list.

Still Trinidad-Mayorga over Cotoo-Margarito.

 

All these fights were amazing!! But If I were to pick one, just one... it
would have to be Corrales Castillo 1.

This fight sticks out above the rest. Just a Rocky/Hollywood type ending that even the best filmmaker could not duplicate.

 

Not bad list, but mine is as follows:

1. Corrales-Castillo I
2. Ward vs. Gatti I
3. Morales vs. Barrera I
4. Vazquez vs. Marquez III
5. Vazquez vs. Marquez II
6. Sitchatchawal-Monshipour
7. Gatti vs. Ward III (this was also a very great fight, you shouldn't miss it)
8. Pacquiao vs. Morales II (better than the first encounter IMO)
9. Trinidad vs. Vargas
10. Mosley vs. De La Hoya I

Almost in top10: Morales vs. Pacquiao I, Morales vs. Barrera III, Marquez vs. Pacquiao I-II, Lewis vs. Klitschko.

I would not put Trinidad-Mayorga there, because it was very one-sided. I put ther Mosley vs. De La Hoya I which was not only a war, but a fight of two very skilled and brilliant boxers.

In conclusion, we had a nice decade, didn't we

No love for Toney-Jirov?

Not a bad list, although Margo-Cotto probably wouldn't be in my top 50, much less top 10. Probably not even the third best fight involving Cotto, IMO.

Moore-Macklin might creep into the back of my top 10 as well. Closet classic that most non-brits didn't pay much attention to, but was easily the best UK fight of the decade.

 

I am not seeing DLH-Vargas on anyones list? This was an amazing fight IMO. Not sure I can crunch 10 fights of the dacade into a list. Too many good ones to pick.
