Yea, I see Tyson in these lists yet Holy dominated Tyson. Better yet, Bowe dominated Holy. Lewis dominated Tyson. These lists are a joke. It's a very subjective subject.

Because Tyson was really at his peak against Lewis, and even Holyfield

Yes, It's a subjective thing and that's why it's fun. Styles make fights as well, just because Holyfield beat Tyson doesn't mean he deserves to be ranked above him on these lists which factor in resume/head to head against other greats.

Holyfields about 13th on my list. Great warrior, great fighter but not a top ten HW. He lost his trilogy with Bowe and is the very good fighter that Bowe beat, Moorer defeated him as well. Holyfield avenged that loss but it hurts him.

For those of you putting Lewis so high up, how much does his win over Tyson affect his place? Say he didn't fight Tyson and didn't have that name on his resume, where do you place him then?

and Danny Williams beat Tyson so he must be better than him

    and Tyson beat Holmes

    and Holmes beat Ali

and guess what - Fraudley beat Williams

Therefore Harrison must be better than Ali

    I see your thinking :thumbsup

It doesn't really affect him much. Tyson was a 2 or 3 round fighter at that point, It's a good win for Lewis because Tyson was still blasting out fringe contenders but nothing that really changes his legacy much. Lewis beat more ranked contenders than all but a few HWs ever, so it would be one less win for that but that's it...

What's your argument for having Holy, and Dempsey in the top 8? Dempsey beat less quality fighters than Tyson and avoided easily the best fighter of his era. Head to Head he's behind him too, just my opinion of course but just want to hear why you regard both so highly.

This one's been done to death, here and in the Classic, but here goes again:

    1. Ali

    2. Louis

    3. Lewis/Foreman

    5. Marciano/Holmes

    7. Liston

    8. Tyson

    9. Frazier

    10. Patterson

    PS.

My list only considers fighters from the Joe Louis era and later.
If I was to go back further (to a very different game than today's), I would probably include Dempsey and Johnson somewhwere in my list and drop my last two.
