Although it has most of the right names in it, when Marciano is ranked above Ali(and to a lesser extent Louis) you have to question how hard they've looked into the careers of these fighters, or if they have at all.

Jack Dempsey does not belong anywhere near 6, as there were so many real, true world champions of all races, who have far greater resumes and look vastly superior on film.

The exclusion of Lennox Lewis is simply unacceptable.

    Tyson too low.

If i knew the criteria it'd be easier to judge. H2H based, the Frazier is easily justified at 4, otherwise i cant see him being above Holmes and Foreman.

This is true. Some people allow their personal liking for a fighter to influence their choices. It's just coincidence that Ali's my favourite, and the one that I'd pick as the best ever.

I dont rank Marciano over Ali, but like any argument, you can find reasons.

Reasons I suppose one would have Marciano over Ali is cleaning out his era better than Ali did. No losses during that cleaning out thing like Ali did vs Frazier and Norton. But thats about it, the only reason I would think of putting Rocky over Ali.

Now Ali gets over Marciano base on his legend, 3 time world champ, faceing Hofers in Liston, Patterson, Norton, and Frazier, 19 title defenses ete. But if I had to find a reason for Marciano over Ali that would be it.

I have Marciano in the top 3 after Ali and Louis, but I dont rank Marciano on the 49-0 record, he would still be in the top 3 for pretty much cleaning out his era, which is all really any one can ask of a champion. I really didnt think there was much more Rocky could have done.

yeah i too have Marciano probably at 3rd, at the very least 5th. I just think the gap between the top 2 and the rest is quite a big one, all things considered.

This is probably my favourite list in this thread. Though I'd probably swap Liston for Dempsey and maybe bump Marciano down a few (though maybe I'm guilty of underrating him).

    Not that I know ****!

Well, all opinions deserve respect, but to put it mildly: your list sucks! :D

-Rocky above Ali and Joe? :patsch
-Frazier above Foreman?. I love Joe, but that one is hard to believe
-BTW Frazier at 4th is too high, he should be bottom 10
-Same with Foreman. Big George shuld be 8th-10th
    -No Holyfield? Seriously??????
    -Holmes should be top 5
