Check your facts. Palomino and Yaqui Lopez were straight up Mexican. Corrales was Mexican/Colombian.

Just a quick list off the top of my head.

Palomino & Lopez fought out of California ( Westminister & Sacramento) respectivley. Although Palomino was born in Tijuana, Was very popular in California, where he fought a majority of his bouts. You dont even see either on any list of Mexican National fighters lists.

They were both born in Mexico to Mexican parents. They're Mexican. Jose Napoles fought out of Mexico for a lot of his career, and the people accepted him as one of their own and loved him. That doesn't make him any less Cuban.

Semantics, guys. Perhaps before starting a list, rules should have been put in place. In other words are all fighters born in Mex. barred from this list? That would also bar Muniz, who by the way, fought in the Olympics representing the US. Some fine lines here. Nevertheless, I would also add in Gaby Canizales and Ruben Navarro to the list.

Surf-correct. Aurelio Herrera was a powerful puncher from the turn of the 1900s. But the old time writers ,wrote Aurellio liked his tequila, much too much.
What about Chalky Wright of Pep's era and before. With the proper connections, and in his prime, he ko's Sandy Saddler,i say. He had to fight much heavier men than himself, so feared was he.When he lost his title to Willie Pep in 1942, Wright was in his thirties.
Another great Mexican fighter overlooked today was Manuel Ortiz, great
Bantamweight Champion for many years in the 1940s.Chalky Wright and Manuel Ortiz, tough champs in a tough era. Cheers S...
