Since this is not a greatness/resume type thread I`ll stick to fighters that have decent video footage at their best at the weight & I`ll stick with the 5 main divisions.....

Heavyweight - Muhammad Ali (vs Williams,1966)

Middleweight - Sugar Ray Robinson (vs Lamotta,1951)

Welterweight - Sugar Ray Leonard (vs Duran II,1980)

Lightweight - Roberto Duran (vs Dejesus III,1978.)

Featherweight - Salvador Sanchez (vs Lopez II,1981)

i aint arguing with most of that but at least leonard is likely to come prepared, i cant stand leonards image(or any golden pretty boy), but if i'm risking everything its on someone who shows up consistantly, and who has no major weaknesses to exploit. hearns beats most welters, but has stamina issues and failed to prepare properly for one of his biggest fights.(srl 1) also hagler and rjj are middle, no one saying bet on mw leonard blind.

and i figure you joking about rjj. what happens when he is against top guys, he never fought any so to my mind its crazy to bet anything, let alone everything on him(without odds).

Of course he does, but I`m not putting the mortgage on a man that`s difficult for everybody & might win or might not, I`m putting the mortgage on a man that I think can flat out beat everybody :good

Robinson at his MW best is a much better pick than Hopkins.

Yeah, it's tough. I think Hopkins is the tougher MW to get by than Robinson. I think head 2 head Hopkins is 2nd only to Jones at 160. That's just me though.

He was indeed. I just think Hopkins and Jones being so athletic and dynamic carries the day.

I also like Burley at 160. I'd probably go Jones, Hopkins, SRR, Hagler, Monzon, Burley

First real deviating list that is very much defendable. Love it. Ernesto Marcel, will have to give him a better look though.

In order would be peachy. And manly. Even though it's also peachy.

You kinda sense that being dynamic and athletic could trouble Monzon, but I've never seen a fighter I'd be comfortable giving the nod. Roy Jones was pretty inexperienced at 160. Hopkins I don't think was ever good enough.

We'll have to disagree there. Hopkins strength, size, speed and all around technicality of his game is tough to overcome unless you have the types of gifts that a Roy Jones had. Hopkins enjoyed pretty much every advantage over Monzon besides power.

nothing to joke about when it comes to Roy

he was easily better than any of today's fighters. his reign from middle to light heavy was legit unlike Sugar's reign at jr middle, middle, supermiddle, & lightheavy

unlike most here I give Roy a chance at whipping Mike Spinks but I cant prove it. but they cant prove Mike could whip Roy either

only reason Roy gets knocked is b/c he is a punching bag now so they gets to laugh at him

    but nobody was laughing then

I think Roy Jones with his best legs was hardest to beat at 168. There, I would take him over anyone.
