Top ten Power punchers in Heavyweight history

I haven't actually seen much of Foster in action, 2 or 3 fights at the most ,only one of which he won,but even in his losing effort against Quarry ,he looked to have power.
Louis might not be the most concussive of the heavyweight punchers, but I would submit he is probably the most correct.His ko's of B Baer,and Braddock are executed perfectly.
Louis was proven against big heavyweights too.
The results of his punches make me include him.
Knocking out several of Uzcudun's gold teeth.
Driving Braddock's teeth through his lip and into his gumsheild.
He lifts Galento of the floor with a punch , reminiscent of Foreman's demolition of Frazier.
The shot that took out Paycheck is very impressive imo.

Louis seemed to leave his signature on an opponent after he had landed a big shot,Im not articulating this very well but it is rather hard to describe.
Comparable puncher? Alexis Arguello.

Big George Foreman is right up there, I'd probably put him in the top 3 heavy hitters of all time heavyweight wise.

 

I think all the guys deserving to be in the list are already mentioned. As for heavyweights I think Foreman, Tyson and Shavers are top 3. Who is the most powerfull puncher out of those? Well nobody can say that. There is nothing to say for example Foreman hit harder then Tyson or Shavers then Foreman. They all knocked down guys with body shots, knock them the **** out with single arm punches, broke their jaws, ribs etc, knocked them uncuncious, sent them flying accross the ring and made them droll and stumble to get up even after minutes :tired . I'd also put Tua and Ruddock in the top 5 but I know thats something not everyone will agree with.

 

The two biggest power punchers were Foreman and Shavers. Tyson would be up there for sheer explosiveness.

 

Well there is nothing to prove he isnt up there with them. Of course there's different kind's of power and Tyson is probably the most explosive heavyweight ever but still, based on his recorded and footage he is as devastating puncher as any of them.

 

The best punchers are the ones who have nothing but their power, Earnie Shavers and Corrie Sanders. They nailed you OR they lost.

 

I dont understand this logic. So in order to be ˙˙the best puncher˙˙ (if there is such a thing) you have to be limited in other areas? That doesnt make any sence. And Sanders would not make the top 10 list. His KO percentege is average and the only worthy opponent he KO'ed was the weak chinned WK. And his other KO's arent all that impressive - not the ones on footage anyway.

 

Fitz is the biggest puncher and by a, naturally unbiased, HUGE margin.

He is actually still living and summoned all the great punchers to watch his party trick of punching cows over gates. Foreman could barely get the calves hooves off the floor.

 

The authour of this thread, in reply to my querry, asked me to factor in punching technique as oposed to raw power.

Now I can well believe that Stan Ketchel hit harder than Tommy Burns but I think it is fair to say that his punching technique was less polished.

Burns tends to get forgotten in discussions of all time punchers because he fought at heavyweight. His only real weakness was his lack of size.

If i had to pick three then i would have foreman, shavers and tua. i cant say nothing about langford, because i havent seen him but i would imagine he'd be something like david tua. tyson wasnt as heavyhanded as the three i mentioned above imo but i believe he still had alot of power

 

Why isnt Tyson as heavyhanded as those 3 ? Thats a myth imo, there is nothing to prove that.
