Until the PBF- fight, I liked Hatton. But right now, he and especially his nut hugger- fans here are getting more a joke and more. Torres isn´t a big name but Collazo was a big name? Cotto was KD against a hard puncher like Torres but knocked him later out, Hatton was KTFO against the mediocre hitting Mayweather and has an iron chin and all that? The excuses are getting pathetic and lame now, c´mon Ricky, give Witter finally the challenge he´s waiting for years now, or will you waiting until he´s 40 years old? In the UK the fight would be very interesting IMO, you can´t say this fight wouldn´t get much attention...

 

Hope hatton fights him. The guy is a belt holder, troubled Cotto and is one of few decent opponents at 140.

With luck hatton fights him, malignaggi and witter before retiring. Because somehow theyve become megastar heir apparent to the division by their spectacular wins over quality opponents.

 

yeah, strong chin, so how come a "check hook" from a fighter who failed to knock out his last five or more opponents resulted into his first loss:hey:hey

 

And let´s not forget, at 147 lbs, in his another fight against the light- hitting Collazo he was also hurt, IMO his chin is a bit overrated...

 

hattons chin is pretty good but certainly not iron and certainly not china. the punch he got knocked out with was a power shot he didnt see coming right on the chin. that would have destroyed plenty of light welter/welters and was more to do with stupid charging forward with no defence tactics than chin strength.

 

To take a step back from the discussion, what's the point in this press release? Is there any junior welterweight fighter who wouldn't fight Hatton today if given the chance? It's like calling out DLH - what's the point? Torres could have called out Malignaggi or Witter, calling out Hatton makes no point at all.

I wish boxing was a proper sport, like soccer or hockey, with leagues. Chosing opponents degrades boxing to a theatre like show.
