 Watched it frontwards and backwards, fast and slo-mo. It was a head butt that sent Torres down and then a right hand that finished him. Makes no difference but it was a head butt that really hurt Torres, not a punch.

:patsch I was watching the fight on tape and right after I posted this thread the commentators saw the head butt too. So you all may have already seen it.

Yeah, most people know this already. There have been quite a few discussions about it.

It's just ****ed up that it goes down as a KO1 on Torres' record. The WBO should mandate a rubber match.

That's boxing, things can go too wild sometimes and that fight was wild from the start. Torres got careless as well and just kept coming forward, should've been more cautious. A third fight is definitely necessary but shouldn't be forced.

It looks far worse than it probably was.

how it can look far worse that it proably was when that was actually the "punch" that rocked him and almost sent him trough the ropes

It wasn't the punch that sent him to the ropes, it was the headbutt, he had his hand on his face as he backed off clearly from the headbutt seriously hurting him and left his self slightly open and boom he was out. He was actually already half out before that punch landed, the punch was just a finisher.

From the video I've seen, it was hard to tell where the headbutt hit him, if it glanced off his jaw, what. But I said when I first saw it I thought a headbutt caught him while Charles and Farhood were going "huduh....left hook to the body..."

there was already a poll about this. i think most esb'ers think that it's unintentional headbutt. i voted for intentional headbutt though.

the headbutt quickly followed by a punch finished torres.

I think, the heabutt was unintentional, but he knew he headbutt him and that it stunned Torres and finished him off so gamely.

I mean, you know when your head hit someone squarely on the jaw, especially if the opponent right in front of you appears rocked and you didn't let your hands go.

So, based on this, I would say he capitalized on a referee's indecision(albeit the referee could not have reacted quick enough to begin with).

I believe this should however be called a NC and a rubber match reinstated,

    Just my personal opinion however.
