Beranza is jabbing and feinting hooks to get Martin backing up to the ropes. Hook to the body by Beranza rushing forward as Martin dances back. Martin watches from the outside, not throwing. Wild overhand right by Beranza flopping in on him as Martin pulls an acrobatic bend-behind-the-waist move while in mid-step. Martin is pushed to the ropes but hooks his way off. Clubbing shots behind the head by Beranza as Martin ducks his head down and leans inside. Overhand right by Beranza. Martin's face is marked up. Beranza jumps in with another left hook to the face thrown in midair. Martin is tentative in throwing a light jab while circling away as Beranza pounds him with left and right hooks to the body giving chase.

Round 5

Beranza is jumping forward with those high left hooks but missing as Martin springs away. Beranza walks flush onto some jabs while crowding his way in. Martin is walked across the ring and both men are too far away to throw any punches, as Beranza's feet aren't fast enough to close the distance despite his pressure forcing Martin in the desired direction. Beranza finally catches up and lands a left hook up top. Martin ducks and shimmies as Beranza throws a slew of lefts and rights, landing two or three out of half a dozen. Martin is caught with a quick triple left hook. Martin has trouble getting his jab off as Beranza is watching for openings and then popping him with his own jab or hooks to the body.

Round 6

Beranza keeps brick-laying, setting up short pitter-patter rights with lefts and vice versa and keeping Martin constantly on the defensive as he backs him up and keeps his fists floating around his head but settling for his sides or back when offered up. Martin takes long sliding steps backwards and starts to land counters well. Wild undulation by Martin as he ducks and thrashes around to get away from Beranza's flurries. Martin is hooking at the body and throwing the 1-2 as he takes light dancing steps around Beranza up on his toes.

Beranza does a quick sign of the cross against his chest before getting off his stool. The gas tank may be running low...

 

Round 7

Martin jabs from a high hand position. Beranza bulls his way in and taps Martin across the face with jabs and lunging rights through the gloves. Martin jabs the body while backing up. Beranza hooks to the body and gets his arm caught, so he slams Martin with some overhand rights. Martin tosses out the left hook while backing up. Martin drops a lazy left hook to the body, just brushing Beranza's stomach as Beranza throws a much meaner left hook to the jaw. They trade jabs and Beranza rushes in with his head down as Martin takes a backward leap. Beranza ducks a flurry and lands a solid left hook to the body. Martin changes his mind at the last second about backing to the ropes and stumbles a bit unsteadily circling left instead as Beranza drops both fists on him in a tornado of activity. BIG left hook by Beranza.

The TV card starts in an hour and twenty minutes.

The TV card has a ten rounder, a twelve rounder, and THEN the main event.

 

Round 8

Beranza doubles his hook into Martin's face coming forward. Again! He keeps landing it twice, bouncing it off Martin's cheek and then bringing it right back down. Martin tries to roll out a long jab while keeping his distance with long steps back. Beranza jabs and hooks his way in and nearly catches Martin on the ropes falling in on them as Martin launches narrowly past him. Left hook catches Martin. Fancy footwork dancing around by Martin but not landing any counters and barely throwing any. Beranza pokes out a slow lulling jab and gets Martin circling to his right - STRAIGHT into a reaching double left hook! Beranza is fighting brilliantly tonight! Martin hops in and out with a spring in his step, but is pushed back as soon as Beranza comes leaning forward dropping body shots. Martin is pushed to the ropes but crouches down and scoots out past Beranza again. They wrestle and push off a few times. Martin throws a wide hook into Beranza's bicep. Beranza stays in close and roughs him up with all sorts of clubbing shots across the head, arms and back!!
