Effective aggression? LOL! GGG punches missed per round: 1. = 28 2. = 32 3. = 33 4. = 30 5. = 28 6. = 29 7. = 30 8. = 25. 9. = 34 10. = 18 11. = 20 12. = 35 Total punches missed = 342 Talk about being a windmill? Keep in mind that those wild misses were met very often by counter punches. BTW I did not count pawing with the jab or distance-measuring jabs or just feints as misses. Only fully committed pucnces were counted. Don't believe me? Count them for yourselves. In fact, I became distracted and missed some at the start of some rounds. Otherwise the sum would be a little higher. British commentator glibly said: "He's missing al lot but it's the overall impression that counts!" They were also proclaiming rounds in which all he did was miss and get countered and often backed up as GGG rounds. The same BS garabage all over again! How the hell do you win a fight when you are mostly hitting air?
Yet you're probably the same tool that had Horn beating PAC despite landing what, 15% of his punches? GGG landed more, controlled the pace, had all the ring generalship, and fought consistently through rounds. If I rewatch the fight I can probably make a better case for 117-111 GGG than anyone can 114-114. 116-112 is the right score.
That's a fun new way to try and twist things, if I do say so. Shame that, in missing those punches, GGG also dictated the distance & pace of the fight, and still outlanded and outjabbed Canelo. Cinnamon's got to work harder on being able to fight a full 3 minutes. He fought like the 35 year old last night- well in spurts, but too much resting in between them.
Golovkin has a hell of a gas tank for a 35 year old but all those misses and the body work by canelo weakened gggs punch power. Smart strategy by canelo.
Fun is irrelevant to facts which are that 99%of those jabs were hitting air. They were either being easily slipped or falling short. As I said, I am not counting distance setting jabs as misses. I am counting attempted jabs to connect. You don't set distance by missing most of your punches. Especially 342 punches in just 12 rounds. The stark reality is that Canelo totally outboxed GGG, made him look clumsy and unskilled and befuddled all his attempts to win that fight. In fact, he was even backed up and walked down frequently when Canelo CHOSE to turn up the heat. Canelo was robbed! BTW Trying to see Canelo as just another fighter instead of being a Mexican under Hoya helps in being fair in the assessment of this fight.
Golovkin landed 31%, Canelo landed 33% Neither fighter was accurate, Golovkin was able to get off more punches because he controlled the fight. Dont be a tool.
CopuBox is always wrong. These numbers are an estimation and shouldn't be used to prove any point. It's literally two guys watching a fight live at the venue and pressing buttons when they think a punch is thrown/landed. Very fallible.
Alvarez miss 336 punches overall. Both men missed the majority of their punches. Even Floyd misses around 60% of his total punch output landing in the range of 40-42% historically. The fact is it's a rarity to see a boxer land more than half of their punches, especially in a 12 round fight.
So what triple g missed 342 punches You mean those 218 punches dont count ? Who was hitting Canelo the refree ?
Compubox is trash. Gg missed way more than that. I havent seen a fighter missing so much in a long long time. 30% of accuracy? my azz.
