    GBP had a lot at stake in this fight. Oscar's earnings would have been cut by a third and Hopkins record would have truly been in jeopardy. Them two old dogs plotted and planed this fight to a tee.

    Compubox is a trash stat. We need punches counts with timestamps. It is not that freaking hard.

    I completely agree with you, compubox is total garbage as far as using it as a tool to score a fight as HBO likes to do.
    They hire the counters to suit their agenda, its really that simple.

    Compubox for example has both fighters landing at a similar connect %, and there is no way that Golovkin landed anywhere near the % that Canelo the much accurate puncher was landing.

    Golovkin was getting credit for scoring on Canelo when he was on the ropes when in fact Canelo was making miss virtually everything being thrown.
    .....and a lot of the connect were being ridden where Golovkin was just grazing him.

    Like you said, even some of the jabs Golovkin got credit for were of the gauging variety and not really an effective scoring punch.

    To me Canelo threw and landed the harder more effective scoring punches.
    As well, he castigated and hurt Golovkin to the body, something that was never pointed out by the HBO crew.

    Great, now go back and count all of Golovkin's punches. If Compubox missed that many of Canelo's, think how many they didn't record of Golovkin's.

    One curious thing about facts-they have a nasty habit of annoyingly remaining facts regardless on how we wish they would go away.

    BTW
    Canelo isn't my boy since I am also a fan of GGG. So to me a draw isn't offensive at all. I'm just telling it as it is. The punch stats are skewered.

    Compu Box gave him credit for punches he never landed. So how is that taking away credit?

    BTW
    I just posted GGG's punch connects and they are crediting him for landing much more than he did. I think that the compuebox box folks were counting feints and misses and taps.
