Gs and keyboard warriors know that showing respect is for wimps. Which is why Gatti and Ward hugging was totally gay.

That said, even as a big fan of Mosley, he does it to distraction. Respect is good, but it can be taken too far. Save it for the end of the round and as a way of saying "my bad" after an accidental foul.

Coaches at my gym always instruct us not to touch glove, because you never know if the other guy is going to take advantage of it.

If two guys are chunking serious leather? I have no problem with them touching gloves between rounds. I have seen numerous fights with two Hispanic guys showing love at the bell while beating each other senseless during the round.

The problem I have and I suspect the rest of the Boxing world has is guys putting on a synchronized circling match AND touching gloves. Get mad! Get Work!

It's fine as long as they only do it at the beginning or end of the each round. Touching gloves at the beginning, end, after every breakup, etc and it quickly becomes a sausage love fest.

Jermain Taylor kept wanting to touch gloves with Pavlik in the rematch, and Leow jumped down Kelly's ass for doing it once or twice, telling him they can be friends all they want after the fight.

Not to mention, like you say your coach says: the other fighter should do like PBF did when Shane tried that ****, and I've seen a few others that smash a dude for tryin' it.:yep

reachin' out for a friendly tap is NOT protecting yourself at all times.

Touching Gloves, good sportsmanship you see it in Football though it is usually discouraged(by the coaches) until after the game.

But, in regards to Mosley. He does it a hell of a lot more often when he is getting his ass kicked than he does when he's winning a fight.
