Would it be fair to argue that Mayweather should receive the bigger piece of the pie because he is the bigger celebrity and speaks english fluently. This is ery important because this is a fight with crossover appeal with viewership possible from the mainstream crowd and casual PPV customers. Floyd is going to have the burden carrying the majority of this huge promotion, should the fight happen? No disrespect to Paq, and I am not being racist or anti immigrant or whatever, from a business prespective how can argue against that??? He has to do more work to sell the fight properly! :deal
with that argument then most mexicans and other foreign fighters would not get any fair share of the pie. Besides, look at Mayorga vs. Forrest. Mayorga's english is not exactly stellar but we all know who was doing the promotional work for their second fight.
If Pac wasn't well known? Yes, it would have an effect. Thing is at this point Manny Pac is a big name and big enough that his promotional work isn't that hard to do. Just show up, smile, speak as well as you can and people will buy it because your in-ring actions are enought o convince people to pay money. They love knock outs, Manny delivers. Lest we forget his inspirational manager Freddie Roach who can talk. Manny's ability to speak english isn't a big deal here.
Give Mayweather a 50/50 split ONLY if fight is at 140 lbs. Or really get to him by making a winner takes 60. Now that would make a good fight. As it stands this moment. It should be 60/40 for Pac. He is the Bill not Mayweather. Even if Maywether wins against WMM Pac will still be the BILL.
