George Kambosos Jr "looked like" (at least to me) as though he was controlling the ring and controlling the action with good ring generalship in his July 22nd 2023 fight. But when you look at the numbers, Maximus Hughes was ahead on most stats.

For example: Hughes was 98 of 338, 29% in total punches compared to 90 of 471, 19% for Kambosos.

    Who truly won?

(i wouldn't have argued a draw... and one of the judges saw it that way). Mark Kriegel had Hughes winning.

Were the powers-that-be trying to keep the 3-to-1-underdog Hughes out of contention so they could set up the bigger-money fights in the future of Kambosos?

Hughes won. But Hughes looks like a dork. He even looks like a dork when he is boxing. Kambosos looks like a movie star.

Right after the fight Kambosos called out Lomachenko.

Very soon the lightweight titles will probably be vacant. The IBF much rather will have a fight between Kambosos and Lomachenko. Lomachenko would probably beat both Kambosos or Hughes anyways.

The IBF wants Lomachenko as champion.

The IBF also manufactured Dubois to be Usyks mandatory. But that’s all just coincidence. Probably. Maybe. Like let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Who knows. Probably not.

That's harsh to say about Hughes, i liked his post fight he was humble & still didn't want to take away from Kamboso's parade, he conducted himself as a genuine professional & the fans appreciated his efforts.

It’s messed up to say that about Hughes. It’s way more messed up they robbed him of a title shot and a big payday. And the major point is who did that? The promoters? Or the IBF? It’s the IBF that proved the judges right? And if someone is robbed it’s the IBF who should be saying what the **** is this? We are a legit organization, we don’t stand for this. Except the IBF is not a legit organization ofcourse.

Hughes is a good boxer though. And respect to him climbing back into the ring. Those body shots hurt Kambosos.

I think algieri said it best: "117-111?" "You must've brought your scorecard filled in from home before the bout!"

    - Taylor robbed Catterall
    - Lopez robbed Martin
    - Haney robbed Lomachenko
    - Kambosos robbed Hughes

    Why should we be surprised?

Kambosos' performance fell short of expectations, to say the least. Given he looked poor against Haney (both fights), I think many expected him to 'bounce back' with an emphatic win. I have never rated Kambo, but if he was half as good as people believe, Hughes should have been a tune up at best.

He met his ceiling against Lopez, which is more apparent than ever. His previous successes and financial gains might have affected his motivation to win at all costs, reminiscent of Lopez's unexpected loss to Sandor Martin (which was also a significant upset and predictably, a robbery). On that note, I think Lopez is of a similar calibre. Sure, Lopez schooled Taylor, but Taylor proved he was well past it against Catterall.

People can validate it however they want, but Hughes was ROBBED.

The recurring instances of robberies in Arum's boxing promotions raise serious concerns about his involvement in the sport. The geriatric should be removed altogether, it's disgraceful and seriously impacting the sport's dwindling reputation.

**** Arum, **** Top Rank and **** anyone that excuses their blatant corruption.

Yeah look it wouldn't matter if it was the WBO, WBA or C etc there's been bigger fights then this where all those parties go silent, there all in it usually & cant misspeak leaving them in diplomacy.

Said the same thing about it being beyond blatant with Top Rank & i believe George signed a new extension that's split with TR so they are just protecting their future investment,

Might just give Kam that Loma fight he's been wanting granting him even more of a huge pay day along with those two Haney fights that made him big bank, the dude is cashing out & luckily for him doing it in the right way.

It might be "tough to tell" who really won the match for someone with a catastrophic brain injury, but only the catatonic ones.

Kambosos paid the judges more than the other guy did so he legitimately won. He who pays most gets the judges just as he should.
