Tougher opponents, Froch or Calzaghe?

Who did he beat as good as Eubank or undefeated Kessler? or anyone with a SMW resume as good as Woodhall, Mitchell, Lacy etc

 

Froch is truely a warrior... Boxing needs more of these kind of guys..

This is not about who beat who.. This is about toughest opponents win or lose..
Calzaghe has an impressive resume over a long reign as a champ, Woodhall, Reid, Eubank, Lacy and Bika were all tough fighters in their own right and then you add Kessler and Hopkins who probably are his best wins.

But i still feel that Froch's streak of top notch fighters both away and home is a tougher schedule.. Froch going on the road to take on Kessler in Denmark, Abraham in Finland, Johnson in the USA and Ward in the USA is as tough as it gets imo..

 

At SMW Abraham is not more dangerous than Reid.
At SMW Abraham cant compete. Reid beat the WBC champ Nardiello, beat Cherifi before he became WBC MW champ beating K Holmes, Reid beat world rated top 10 SMW Wharton, Reid beat undefeated Magee now current WBA int champ. Reid looked unlucky to many against Ottke. Do you think Ottke won that?

In 14 SMW fights Johnson has lost 8 of them.
Johnson has lost at SMW to -

M Sosa who had 5 losses and 2 draws, and lost his next 2 fights after beating Johnson
Kiwanuka who had 3 losses and 2 draws, had lost his last 2 fights coming into his fight with Johnson and his fight after Johnson
Ottke 16-0 who in fairness was an outstanding SMW boxer
Vanderpool 27-1 who lost his next fight, but in fairness that was at MW to Hopkins and Vanderpool had a good run after
Branco 38-4-2 who was a world class SMW and became WBA LHW champ
Sheika who was 19-1 and lost his next fight, though in fairness that was to Calzaghe.

Watson 24-16-1, Johnson was his last fight
Renteria 9-23-5 coming in, whos last 10 fight record before facing Johnson was 0-8-2
Zimmerman 15-2-0 coming in, who had lost his previous fight and the one after
A Green 29-2-0 coming in off a loss and Johnsons biggest SMW victory

Its not impressive now is it. Please spare me the robbery talk.
If any rated SMW losses to Johnson it wont look good on their resume

Didnt know Dirrell had an olympic gold medal. new to me. Still A Harrison had one of those and pro and amm are a different thing.
Dirrells biggest win is either Abraham the MW or Oganov
Veit is far more accomplished
The win Calzaghe had over Veit was a very good victory.
The first time Calzaghe beat Veit, Veit was 30-0 and hadnt beaten anyone of real note, hence he was blown away in a round by Calzaghe.
When Calzaghe beat Veit a 2nd time Veit was an accomplished world rated 45-1 fighter who had some solid victories behind him and a SMW world title, and was top 10 rated.
Veit had beaten undefeated Dziarra who wasnt a great fighter but did go on to beat L Mock and undefeated M Oral who would go on to challenge MW champs A Abraham and S Sylvester recently.
Veit had also beaten beaten undefeated Guerrero for the European union title.
Veit beat future title challenger Salem and Mock.
Veit also beat world rated C Brewer with an educated destructive 9th round KO.
A note on Veit. He only ever lost to world champs or fighters who became world champs and has victories over Mock, Salem, Perdermo (a future Kessler challenger), Brewer when Brewer was world rated and Veit beat undefeated Braehmer who became WBO LHW champ
A good Calzaghe victory over a mandatory world class SMW
Also a great away victory for Calzaghe in Germany

Not sure what you are going on about with Woodhall and Pascal fought Hopkins at LHW.
Still its SMW where it matters
Woodhall beat WBC SMW champ Malinga, beat former WBC SMW champ and still world rated Nardiello, beat world rated SMW Branco who became WBA LHW champ, beat Catley who became WBC SMW champ.
Who at SMW did Pascal beat?

I agree Froch has had it tougher, in that he has been on the road so much. Thats alot for any fighter and Froch has travelled with his title which is commendable.
But he hasnt beaten better comp than Calzaghe, though I would agree Froch has fought a tougher close schedule at the early stages of his title run, but not tougher opponents. Calzaghe was a champ for a long time so overall has fighters with far better SMW pedigree and resumes on his victim list compared to Froch

 

You can boost up all of those names on Calz resume all you want but its still not gonna make me vote for Calz you fanboy.

I acknowledge that you MUST know this is true becasue you arent stupid, even if you openly continue to pretend it isnt true that the current IBU title is worth much less than the WBC title AT ANY WEIGHT (another factoid 4 u).


Calzaghe yeah hes really known for fighting abroad, sarcasm, dont spin that one. maybe he did 'say' he wanted to fight kessler anywhere, who the **** wouldnt? but it didnt happen anywhere it was another hometown arrangement - what someone says isnt necessarily at all what happens. like one of your posts.
