Except Douglas has the Tyson win and it was an exceptional win. He did not just defeat a freaked champion but looked terrific doing it showing terrific boxing skills and power along the way. The knock on Douglas was that he was an extremely talented under achiever. He had the tools .. he lacked the mental game. For one night he fought up to his abilities. The rap on ****ell was that he was decent light heavyweight forced to move uo to heavyweight based on a medical condition and while he gave it his all he simply lacked the size and skills to compete on the highest level at the weight .. Adding to the fat Douglas dwarfs him physically , it's not exactly an even match ..

And my point stands, prior to pulling off the GOAT HW upset, he was Kockell level. You can argue Douglas's superior size all day, but at the end, he didn't do anything in the division that Kockell didn't do prior to the Tyson fight.

Kind of selling Tyson a bit short. Surely, being ill prepared with one of the worst corners I've ever seen in a HW Championship fight also had something to do with the loss? The upset was a combination of Douglas not only rising to the occassion but also Tyson not preparing for anything but an early one sided blow out. Douglas was solid but he really wasn't a great fighter. Even in Tokyo, Douglas probably would have still crumbled against Tucker, he nearly did against a half blind shell shocked Tyson. It's not like Douglas wasn't up for Tucker and the IBF title either.

I will also add was Kockell not inspired against Maricano? Standing up to the punishment that far more superior fighters couldn't and lasting much longer than expected. If Marciano was not properly conditioned for that fight, he could have easily gassed trying to bomb Kockell out and got out hustled as LaStarza was. It many not have been Rocky's best night but he still managed to maintain his signature volume punching to secure the win.

There aren't many that can compete at the highest level, that's why its the highest level. Kockell did just fine, he won the British Crown and upset LaStarza to earn a shot at the HW title.

Yep, Douglas is bigger than Kockell. This has been established and known to be a fact.

I will once again add that I've moved Douglas to Layne tier, but I don't believe he belongs any higher than that.

There is nothing to say TheSouthpaw because what I type is 100 percent right. Marciano's career is built up by white guys like Mayweather's fans build him up because he is black.

A newbie voice in the wilderness!

I just need to know if he is white or not… so I can decide if I like him.

Absolutely, I still remember Mike Spinks not looking at him during the instructions; he was beaten man before the bell.

Although I rate Tyson's destruction of Spinks as a great win, the truth is that he was in there with a man who was only going through the motions and had no real intention of walking out of there with a title.. Spinks laid down, and not because of any fix, but to avoid an ass kicking... Simple as that...

I dont think youll ever see a fighter more disturbed before a fight than Spinks was on that night.

Nonsense!! Spinks did not lay down! He did what he could as long as he could Vs Tyson. Spinks was KO'd in a brutal manner..far from layin down!

I'm sure he definitely had a long list of other things he'd rather be doing, ie.

    1. Root canal
    2. Changing diapers
    3. Going to the proctologist
    4. Beating his head against a wall
    5. Having dinner with his mother in law, while on the rag.

    etc,etc, etc, etc......

I don't think he's new at all.. He seems very comfortable trolling as though he's been doing it for years.. The hat he's wearing today is the only thing that's changed :good
