I dont think highly of the Mosley win. His best achievement since losing to Forrest has been a close fight with Cotto or a win over Collazo.

    Would you rate Judah higher?

His win over Judah yes. The way he did it makes it better.

If you dont agree thats fine. Judah would be the 3rd on your list.

Well, if you honestly think that is an answer.

You added a lot of things, but it really is this simple. WHo gives Floyd a tougher fight. I don't know what titles or being more known has to do with it being a more difficult opponent.

Just because Margo is a tougher fight doesn't mean he adds more to someone resume.

Yeah, I definitely disagree. I think level of opposition should be taken into account, rather than focusing solely on performance, when rating a victory.

This is probably the sanest thing I've read so far from your "side" in this thread.

But what also isn't fair is using Floyd's acumen as a businessman and connections with HBO to inflate his fights at 147. He has made more money than Tony, and will go down as the greater fighter historically. But at 147, there is no basis to claim that he is the more accomplished fighter.

That is the other "thing" that starts these arguments and keeps them going. In his campaigns above 135, Floyd was a better businessman than he ever was a proven fighter in the ring.

Can't see why it wouldn't unless he didn't have those major belts at the time.

This question is referring to the time when Baldomir held the titles and Margo only had the WBO title.

Also. Is Roys win over Tarver better than his Ruiz win because tarver was tougher?

Or is Pacs win over JMM better than his first win against Barrera because he was tougher?

Are you kidding me? "Baldomir was the undisputed and linear Welterweight Champ of the world......what the hell has Margarito done......he's no better than a journeyman........":lol::lol::lol:

......so were the words of PimpC's rampage and explanation on why Mayweather should'nt waist his time against journeman Antonio Margarito!:rofl

    According to Lances logic.

Henry Cooper was a greater win to Ali than Alis win over Floyd Patterson because Henry Cooper was a tougher fight.

Its not about looking at things in hindsight......you could have asked 100 boxing scribes at the time Mayweather was about to fight Baldomir who they thought presented Mayweather the tougher task......and almost to a man I'd say 99% would have said Margarito would be the much more difficult task.

I'm one that if Mayweather were to announce he's making a comeback, I'd be the first to say he's the best p4p fighter there is today.......but it does'nt take away that Mayweather as a Welterweight did'nt take on the best welterweights in the world.

You had 3 welterweights that most boxing experts would describe as tougher Welters than DLH and Hatton.....and Mayweather retired before he had to face them......and I'm speaking of Cotto, Margarito, and Williams.

.....as far as resume is concerned, Mayweather is lacking through not having fought the best the divsions have had to offer past his 130 lbs days.

I'm not criticizing Mayweather's decision to retire......because its quite evident that he's not in the business of boxing to create a legacy.....its just a business to him....a way to make alot of money, and thats fine.

.....but part of me just says and feels :-( because we're talking about a fighter with such immense skill that if he truly tore down divisions and fought the best they had to offer......he's a fighter that could truly be mentioned as a top 5 ever, maybe even the greatest ever if he fought and beat these guys.
Sadly it looks like Mayweather will turn out to be another Roy Jones.....looking for the path of least resistance and not caring one iota about legacy.

Like I said, its Mayweather's life and his decisions......but as far as the Mayweather groupies around this forum like PimpC and yourself, you dont have a leg to stand on when you all want to put Mayweather alongside the true elites of the game.

You dont create a great legacy through who would have won on paper.......great legacy's are created through actually fighting and beating the best in the ring!

    ......Mayweather has not done that.
