No one says he wouldn't but Baldomir offered more at the time. He was the better win.

And above 130? What about 135? Castillo isn't good enough?

140 he was ducked by most. 147 you could argue but in his 3 last fights look at who Floyd fought.

The number 1 / champ of each division. 147/154/140 in that order.

Exactly, thanks for pointing that out. PBF gladly accepted to win and defend his belts against opposition such as Gatti (B-level fighter at the very best, and that is being generous), Judah (who was coming off a loss to a featherfisted journeyman), and the great Baldomir (a journeyman who was brought in to make Judah look good before fighting PBF; however, that FAILED miserably).

Margarito fought top ranked WW's, in no particular order: Cotto, Williams, Clottey, Cintron x2, and now Mosley (although a faded version who I would still favor to beat the Gatti, Judah, and Baldomir that PBF beat. Plus, I guarantee Mosley wouldn't have people yawning and walking out of a CHAMPIONSHIP fight that they paid big money for.)

Good luck in trying to convince other posters that your future arguments are credible. Checkmate mofo!!! :deal

How the **** do you figure? anybody who knows boxing knew damn well that Baldimors days as champion were numbered, the man had Zero boxing skills no speed no power not a great defense, he was like a poor mans version of Micky Ward.

Honestly Floyd would have more respect today as a fighter, had he fought Margarito and chose that fight over the Baldimor fight. Floyd knows why he isnt fighting Margarito

Margo had done with his career that was better than what Baldomir did?

Fact is, Baldomir added more to Floyds resume that Margo did AT THE TIME.

I typed a longer before my card went **** but I dont feel like re typing it all but thats the jist of it.

Nothing your apologetic ass can say will ever make beating Baldomir a more difficult task then beating Margarito. Baldomir could own and defend a belt called "#1WW Bad ASS!! WOOO" and it still would not have made Baldomir tougher to beat then margarito. And you ****in know that.

Yep. All Baldomir brought was an easy to grab Linear title to whoever was there to get it.

Nope, never claimed that. Different fight, time, situation, predicament... You should take more time to read what is said, rather then assuming what is being said and commenting on your lame assumption.

As for the "Margarito needed to become Floyd's mandatory" argument, we all know damn well that between sanctioning body corruption, the activity of modern fighters, and the existence of meta-organizations such as HBO and The Ring, moving up the rankings offers absolutely no guarantee of getting a shot at a "name" fighter. By the time Floyd moved up to 147, he had spanked Gatti on PPV and created the kind of name for himself that allowed him to pick and choose exactly who he wanted to fight. Margo cleaning house wouldn't have forced Floyd into the ring.

Arum offered the only thing he knew might get Floyd into the ring, cash money. Floyd played wise hardball, held out, and won the DLH sweepstakes, while picking up an equal payday fighting Baldomir for his belt and the "lineal" title. These were absolutely brilliant career moves on his part financially, and probably had little to do with "fear". But they did involve the calculation that $8 million was not nearly enough to fight Margarito in mid-2006.

Floyd knew along with the rest of the real boxing community that this would not be "easy" money. If it had been, he'd have taken the fight and the then career high purse. It's not that hard to figure out.

Pretty sad that this shitty baldomir accomplished more then Margo

Spin your "logic" however you want it but you are saying that because Margo was a tougher fight for Floyd he should of taken it and it would of added more to his resume than Beating the Lineal Champ in Baldomir.

Didn't you say before that fighting Baldomir would prove that Floyd really belongs at WW or something along that line?
