Cotto and Clottey or JMM and Mosley People quick to praise Manny for fighting the best and Floyd for ducking, but I doubt we would see Manny make it past JMM and Mosley. Thoughts?
Current Pac would destroy current JMM worse than he did Cotto. JMM isn't the same fighter he was 4 or 8 years ago. He's older, slower, fatter and fights less intelligently. Is Mosley probably a tougher test than Cotto or Clottey? Probably (since Mosley has the greatest one-punch power of the three), but Mosley wasn't an option when he signed to fight Clottey, and it wasn't going to happen instead of Cotto for money reasons.
The hardest bout out of the four mentioned would most likely be Mosley. Has a very good chin, doesn't mind exchanging, and punches very hard. Marquez above 135lbs wouldn't give Pacquiao nearly as much trouble as the first 2 bouts.
Whether he's past it or not, JMM's best weight is somewhere down below 135, and Mayweather hasn't made it past Mosley yet.
True enough and my objective is not to start a Mayweather is better than Pacquiao thread. We need to see them fight. Just trying to show that Manny and Floyd fight about the same level of competition. Pac went up in weight later in his career, Mayweather did it earlier. Their weight shouldn't be used as a gauge when comparing their cards.
Mosley cause of his size, speed, power and great chin and Floyd cause of his defense and movement are for me the only ones with a chance of beating Pac at 147 or bellow it.
