While Hagler and Lamotta are the first 2 that always come to mind when this question is asked, the real greatest chin should belong to a heavyweight...taking heavyweight punches is the top of the food chain. The higher you go up in weight and strength, your chin's durability doesn't necessarily increase in conjunction. Ali or Chuvalo should be the right answer to this question.
ha, yea you're actually right about that...the super journeyman. Isn't his nickname The Mule or some ****? Dude has fought every single heavyweight on the planet and i don't think he's ever been stopped. But I don't know how much credit I give to a man who comes in to fights just looking to survive. Its alot easier to avoid getting hurt when you're barely punching.
Great chins no doubt, but the title of best chin goes to Jake "The Raging Bull" LaMotta.... Close thread.
Peter has taken some great shots. McCline was an aberation. The Maskaev/Wlad shots would have put anyone out.
Well judging by his record (and sat performance) it wont be long before Froch will be added to these "great chin" lists...never down as amateur or pro.
