I know. It's not like Duran was green at the time either... 50-1. Who thought that would be a good idea? I reckon Roberto was licking his lips on the way into the ring for that one.

    Not sure......

If I was 50-1 and facing a debutant, I would be a bit gunshy to be honest.

Not me, I'd be as trigger happy as Dick Cheney. If they're soft enough to get in the ring then more fool them...

Oleg Maskaev as someone already said. Also I think Jermain Taylor had a guy with a good record and maybe David Reid, Solis, Gamboa, de la Hoya (first few fights at least, maybe not the debut) too maybe - all fought guys with winning records at least.

I think that Azumah Nelson fought 10 or more rounds for a title in his first, second or third fight.
Michael Carruth, Ryan Rhodes and Darren Dyer were all dropped in their televised and high-profile debuts.

    Adios.

Ricardo Mayorga seems to have been fighting 10 rounders from the word go....

Though the standard of opposition might be questionable.

    Now GBP's resident whipping boy!

Curruth within 30 seconds, if memory serves me right.
