I know Martinez has moved up to middleweight but after watching Pacquiao - Margarito I honestly think the only person within a reasonable weight range who can beat Pac is Maravilla himself. Paul Williams throws punches a lot slower than margarito but throws them more frequently and could honestly see pac Decisioning him ( although not as easily as he did Margarito ) Mosely is finished, cottos already been dealt with, Mayweather wont fight him and Berto would be stopped as he would not pull a clottey and cover up and choose to fight.

Martinez is a bigger, stronger southpaw with great speed but lacks in footwork ( his 2 knockdowns from PW + KP were due to being off balance ) but if Martinez was willing to fight Pacquiao down at light middleweight for his old belt and pac is still willing to stay at the weight who would win?

the thing is, I always :patsch when people think it doesn't matter if an outboxer or technical boxer has a size advantage because anyways he doesn't use his power to win fights. We see these kind of comments all the with fighters like Floyd or Hopkins, and people will no doubt think the same of Martinez.

The fact is that when you are facing a guy like that, your best asset to overcome his style of fighting is to overpower him. How can you overpower a guy who has 15lbs of weight on you and who is keeping you at bay? If he comes right at you, then yea, you can overpower him by making him miss and making him pay. But when he is moving around, when he is harder to hit and you have to compromise yourself a little to land your shots, that's when the size disadvantage becomes most significant.

I think Pac can outsmart Martinez. It won't be a war. It will be an intense fight though. Pac has to keep Martinez on edge, potshotting him and touching up his body. Try to make him slow down a little, force Martinez to commit to his punches and fight a little bit aggressive, and then overwhelm him with speed and movement.

in all fairness though after watching pacquiao dismantle Margarito, Clottey, Cotto, Hatton and De La Hoya in we would be in for a good fight with Sergio Martinez

In all honesty Pac should not move up anymore he could wind up getting hurt after his career is over.
