Toughest fight of Lewis' career?

Underrated fight. At times Lewis was genuinely bamboozled.

Only once in the 7th but timed Mavrovic on the way in and had him clinching for dear life. The fight highlights show a more competitive fight than it actually was. I had it 10-2 and some had Lewis winning every round besides the 7th. Good fight but Lewis showed he was levels above Mavrovic when he easily walked Mavrovic down and switched tactics by getting on his toes and dominating the late rounds

 

He beat a vegeterian who only fought journeymen. The worrying signs were for all to see. Usyk is a different level of athlete to your Lewis type plodders.

 

The Lewis Mavrovic fight was not close. Watch the entire fight instead of the highlights and come back to me.

Btw Chisora took more rounds off Usyk than Mavrovic did against Lewis. Your move

 

Lewis nearly got hustled by the bread hustler. Frankly the fight could have been a draw or a narrow win for Mavrovic were it held in his native Croatia.

 

Watched the whole fight. If Mavrovic was eating steak Lewis would eat canvas. Mavorvic is a club fighter version of Usyk. It hurts but it's true and he tagged Lewis frequently until the last 2 rounds. Lewis was just too big for the tofu fiend. Someone like Usyk is a true 12 round fighter and imagine if he faced Lewis instead of Mavrovic. It would be a slaughter. I'm a huge Lewis fan but let's be real about his limitations as a fighter for gods sake.

 

Intelligent post but I gave Lewis the last 2 rounds. The Bread Basket ran out of steam and had no answer for the jab. Still Lewis was tagged enough to show a supreme athletic specimen like Usyk would have slaughtered him.

 

Agreed. I'm one of the biggest Lewis fans on this site, but even I will attest that if Mavrovic had something more substantial than bread in his diet Lewis very well may have 3 losses on his record.

 

Score the fight then. Watch the entire fight, come back to me and score it. Because Lewis took it by a wide decision. A commentator in the 10th had it 8 rounds to 1 and Mavrovic won no more rounds after that

Jesus man will you give it a rest. Lewis was tagged far too often by someone who had wet bread for fists. I'm a huge Lewis fan but let's be real. Someone like Usyk who is a drug free total athlete just wasn't around that era.

 

Not going to give me your scorecard ? Then don't say ridiculous statements like "Lewis nearly got outhussled" and not have any evidence to back it up. Besides the 7th Lewis didn't have much trouble with Mavrovic, and Mavrovic was eating bombs. Chisora vs Usyk was closer than Mavrovic vs Lewis. You can't make this up

 

Been a month or two since I've watched the fight but I remember giving 4 to Mavrovic. His workrate let him down. Let's be honest though he exposed many flaws that more intelligent heavyweights would be able to exploit in Lewis. I mean I hate to bring him up but Usyk would have slaughtered him.

 

Watch it again. Because I've slowed it down to catch all punches landed and gave Mavrovic 2 rounds at most. The only round he clearly won was the 7th. Mavrovics workrate didn't let him down. He was outjabbed, outcountered, and outlanded.
