Two modern fighters that were pretty tough were Julio Cesar Chavez and Juan Laporte. Laporte was never dropped, only stopped once and that was by not coming out for the 11th round adainst Padilla in his last fight. And Chavez could walk through hard punchers in his prime. Another very tough one was Rafael "Bazooka" Limon.

It's funny you mention this, i was actually thinking about it earlier today. Smokin Joe claims that he was blind in one eye for most of his career, which i find incredible esp considering the style of fighter he was. Jackie Fields and Fidel LaBarba also briefly continued their careers after losing the use of one eye. LaBarba's retina was actually gradually tearing throughout the third bout with Kid Chocolate, despite this he apparently gave Chocolate a pretty good working over. Tommy Loughran said that he fought years with a broken right hand. I seem to recall a boxer having a condition where he was impervious to feeling pain, cant remember who though, Battling Nelson maybe... not sure

He was only the 2nd boxer to ever last 10 full rounds with the beastly young undefeated version of Roberto Duran that went 31-0 with 27 knockouts (and the first man to do so at lightweight).
