Surely Iran 'The Blade' Barkley's middleweight death row?

Sumbu Kalambay - best defensive counterpuncher in his division

Sanderline Williams - most awkward defensive spoiler in his division

Michael Olajide - smoothest prospect in his division

Thomas Hearns - best jab and right hand in any division

Roberto Duran - greatest fighter in any division

Michael Nunn - best pure boxer in his division

Nigel Benn - best power puncher in his division

One after the other for Christ sake!

The Duran fight was a war.
Sad to see his life spiral after boxing. Ended up homeless and broke.

What about James Toney? Didn't he fight Sosa, Sanderline Williams, Nunn, Reggie Johnson and McCallum twice (and DeWitt, and Barkley himself?) all within a year or so or do I have that wrong? All that hype about Carl Froch's run of opponents is pathetic in comparison.

Every Barkley fight was a war; Eddie Hall, Sims, Sanderline W fight...total warzones. He beat Tinley and Kinchen if I recall and was in line to fight Hagler or Leonard. You would never beat Barkley at mid-range because he would keep swinging while being hit! He was rangey with a great counter left hook. Benn hit him long with the first punch then stayed at his chest. Great fighter, truly, because he just kept coming back and fighting the best, winning and defending titles in different divisions while past his best!

M.McCallum fought J.Jackson, McCrory, Curry, Kalambay, Graham, Collins, Watson, Kalambay again and Toney twice almost all back to back in a few years, apart from some non-title/non-televised bouts. Insane.

Who did not have such a line of 7 back 2 back opponents : Glen Johnson , Juan LaPorte , Michael Carbajal , Salvador Sanchez , Carl Froch . Now check Antonio Tarver : Reggie Johnson , Eric Harding , Montell Griffin , Jones Jr*2 , Glen Johnson*2 , Jones Jr , Bernard Hopkins. Previous to Reggie Johnson he had : Mohamed Benguesmia , Ernest Mateen , Eric Harding , Lincoln Carter , Chris Johnson. After Hopkins he had fights vs 2 less than mediocre opponents and then : Clinton Woods and Chad Dawson*2. Even omitting Reggie Johnson Tarver still had a hard 8 past him. I wonder how good were Lincoln Carter & Chris Johnson. Tarver also did better than Barkley against his list.

Froch didn't win fighter of the year because he kept losing, and sometimes getting the decision!

That is insane. And only one clear loss and no dodgy decision wins of those.
