I read an article about Joe Grimm about 25 years ago in Ring Magazine. That guy apparently retired with a badly disfigured face and wasn't feeling too good in old age. If I were him back then I think I would have looked for a diferent line of work.
You are correct my friend. Thing is though, Biggsy has never been bitter about them or had bad things to say. He always seemed to view it that he achieved a certain level and at least had his chance. He did find life hard to adjust from being at the top of the pile , to being someone looking at the end of his career, within a few years. Happens to many fighters and it must be a helluva adjustment to try and make ( especially if most of the money has gone).
It's the best way to look back sometime s. Better to look back and say, well least I had a good go at it and had some good moments along the way, rather than be bitter and always holding on to grudges and anger. What's done is done and least he got in there with the top names.
yeah I often wonder if the man has any brains left ( no disrespect intended. ) My daughter likes to watch a cable series called " finding Bigfoot" which is about this team of crack pots going around the country looking for bigfoot creatures.. I explained to her that there really WAS a bigfoot and his name was Everett "bigfoot" Martin from Tyler, Texas. She roles her eyes and laughs, but I've shown her videos of him and said that Sasquatch doesn't really exist but BIGFOOT does.
Ah ah the mighty big foot, spotted in rings all around the US. I can't help but picture him but looking like THE big foot. A big hairy guy!
Bigfoot lives in Tyler, TX the last time I checked. Maybe I can find him the next time I am over that way.
