At least this is a step in the right direction.

I don't know how the ascendancy works but I trust there is a program of experience & review.

Can someone elaborate (in WA) a bit more of the tutorial I understand that was taking place some time back, & whether they are still in operation?

To me, this shows some attempt is being made to get with the program (Entertainment 2011)

Until now I had no idea how the officials were appointed but one thing is pretty clear. If the Supervisor had any reservations about the quality of officials he should make it his business to sort it out long before fight night.

That is of course unless he wants to postulate in the limelight by creating a scene at the last minute.

Stunts like this give you a good insight into someones character.

There's some good boxing people in Queensland but sadly this sort of garbage puts a blight on the efforts of the people who are involved in the sport for the right reasons.

Don't know if the "guru of boxing" himself reads this forum, but if so I would be happy to read his version of events. It would no doubt differ entirely to the version I've heard from everybody I've spoken to.

Yeh the said person was reasonable to assit local officials early in the Green days of bigger fights coming back to WA. He was paid bo bothe the WA Boxing Comm and Green from what I understand. At the time it was needed but seemed to continue on for ever even after WA officials proved their experience. haven't seen him at any Green fight since Otis Griffin fight from memory so don't think it is but could be worng??

Ben K maybe able to help??

Fancy that!!!!!!!! Recieving two pay packets from the one promotion...

    Well I never:shock:

The more people you talk to, the better insight you get into the glamorous world of the high flying, jet setting self absorbed jekyl and hydes that swan about the sport of boxing.

Listening to the reaction of certain people in the know in the last couple of days has only added to the disgust I feel towards this type of behaviour, along with the level of person that's responsible.

Fast running out of options Mr Big!!!!

    Pretty soon it will be,

    No States:-(

    No Mates:-(

You never know with these whispers.

I heard from a real source that he had (promoter) a really bad night, & he had to cover this official with a promise.
Said official said "you've suffered enough" & walked empty handed.

Dunno how many times it happened though. :huh

Who was it exactly, that caused the suffering in the first place?

Well from all reports, this is what appears to have happened.
I'll leave out the history & the personalities for the sake of brevity.

The ANBFQ assign officials to all fights conducted in that state.
They assigned the main event to Adrian Cairns, which at that time, was the Casey PABA fight.

It also appears there was a restriction on Adrian by the PABA over he being intoxicated at the weigh-in on the gold coast a while back (Breach of ethics)
When this was brought to notice by PABA official Vocale it was suggested/advised/decided to switch the ME to Josh's fight.

It appears that to officials there, this was taking away their authority to assign officials so Adrian was adamant that he wanted to control the PABA fight.
This did not sit well with PABA official Vocale for obvious reasons & heated discussion took place, & for a while, Mexican stand off ensued

After the reported confrontation, they found a solution (Cyril ref's the PABA fight) & the card went ahead .

This is written in as as neutral approach as I can muster so don't shoot the messenger.

From what I understand, the PABA Official had been aware of the fact that Adrian Cairns had been appointed to ref the fight for some time.

That begs the question, Why wait until the night of the promotion before raising the issue? I believe the answer is there for all to see.

Do as I did, phone around. It's not hard to get to the bottom of this. The reason why this situation took place is crystal clear.

    SOUR GRAPES!!!!
