While styles make fights i doubt too many will argue him facing the winner of the two.

I will still argue them ducking another certain fighter tho

Rios is bigger than Mayweather and Pacquiao. That's a real tough matchup for Marquez. Just look at the first Marquez/Diaz fight. Now imagine a bigger Diaz with punching power. You get the idea of the problem Marquez would face. It's an intriguing bout though, I'd watch it.

Cool, Rios doesn't have to fight someone his own size yet again.

Rios would have to go up to WW and even JMW to fight guys his size. He's a very big LW. He might be the biggest top level LW since Castillo.

hell yeah. this should have been the fight in the first place. why put them against 2 unknown bums when u can put them against eachother? arent they both fighting @ lightweight?

Which is why I don't understand people lavishing him with praise and even giving him fighter of the year considerations last year, especially since his best win over Acosta managed to lose most of its luster. Loads of people complain about Chavez being a joke in part for rehydrating so damn much and winning on little more than size, but Rios is somehow a courageous warrior deserving of all the credit in the world for wanting fights with smaller guys like Gamboa and Marquez.

To tell you truth, sometimes I just want to sit back and enjoy the fights. I like watching Rios fight. If he can make the weight, then it's fair game. Sure, he has a size advantage over his opponents. However, him putting on so much weight after the weigh in will affect his conditioning and speed. Weight is an overrated attribute in boxing. Skill is way more important. Not everyone Rios fights is going to stand right in front of him, and try to go blow for blow.
