TR will offer GBP Rigo vs Mares.

HBO will obviously still do some business with GBP when it suits their needs but can't be happy about what GBP is doing with Showtime when HBO went out on the limb for them just a few years back. You know HBO is telling TR and GBP what fights they want. They just have less leverage on GBP now.

Rigo may not have enough in his arsenal to keep Mares off of him. I think Mares may wear him down late.

 

But Rigo only has one hand. Up close it will be Mares' fight as his bullying tactics may wear Rigo down.

I think Rigo punches harder than Moreno, but Moreno has more weapons and is an overall better fighter than Rigo.

Perhaps, Rigo's power will be too much for Mares, but if it's not, Mares will chop Rigo down and stop him late.

 

Rigo puts Mares on the seat of his pants.That puts and end to that approach.

 

That's not out of the question, but if Mares can take Rigo's left hand, Rigo has nothing left.

And Mares' body attack will leave Rigo continually weaker, round after round.

I'm not sure he'll respect Rigo. He may just come quickly at an angle, and attempt to pin him against the ropes and keep him there.

If Rigo does manage to seriously hurt Mares with straight left hands, then Mares will have to alter his gameplan, but he does have decent boxing skills, so he could still win, presuming he wins on workrate or knocks Rigo out.

Honestly, I don't think Rigo is ready for Mares. He should probably fight someone like Darchinyan who is at the tail end of his career to see if he can deal with the type of pressure Mares is going to bring.

 

The anecdote for Mares a guy that comes bulldozing in is POWER. He'll think twice before charging.Unfortunately El senior Moreno didn't do damage to Mares.Except back him up a few times.
