When Leavander Johnson died that affected me more than anything else I've been through with boxing.

He died the Thursday after the fight. I didn't read about it until the next day when I got home from high school. Even though it wasn't surprising given that he was in a coma, I think I experienced some kind of state of shock from learning of his death. It was horrible reading about his children, especially because I had lost a parent a year and a half before.

After I calmed down a little I got in my car and spent something two hours driving around my hometown before coming back to the house.
