This is pretty much ****ing dead on. Agree with everything you wrote, save for Bale as Eklund. He'll be great. And am a lot more worried about Wahlberg than you are.

Is it just me or did Marky Mark just hear he was playing a boxer and packed on as much muscle as possible because in that quick look we get at the weigh in where he flexes his biceps he looks about 3 times the size of the real Mickey.

Wish the project was still in Aronofsky's hands but the look of the film looks good nonetheless.

Looks good. I think I read somewhere that they will show highlights of the Gatti fight in the credits.

The movie is really pointless without the Gatti and Augustus fights.

Wahlberg looks like a freaking middleweight AT LEAST.

Looks really good. Bale will be quality, also the fight bits look really authentic. Wahlberg is a huge question mark though.

Hell yeah they shot this **** a couple streets over from my house in Lowell, Mass. Crazy to see Micky's real life trainer Micky O'keefe playing himself in the movie. Here's the first part of High on Crack Street, the documentary about Dick Eklund and his crackhead buddies.

Wahlberg actually lost about 30 pounds for the role. Agreed on your assessment of his acting ability though. I can't imagine Bale not being good. And considering all the names that were attached to this project at one time or another (Aronofsky, Pitt, etc.), I have to imagine it's a great script. Can't say the preview made it look that good though.

No sequel in the pipeline that I've heard of, but I wouldn't be shocked if there's a movie about Ward v Gatti later on, although that one would probably make more sense to focus on Gatti.

Movie looks good man, i think it sucks they dont have the Gatti fights in there, has a decent cast though and will probly be a good film.
