I watched The Wrestler expecting to see a movie about old school pro wrestling. I used to fish with Dutch Savage, worked at the dealership where Billy Jack Haynes bought his cars, had many conversations with Paul Perschman (Playboy Buddy Rose) et, et. That movie was one of my bigger cinematic dissappointments.
Going into any serious movie with expectations is the best way to set yourself up for disappointment.
It'll be unlikely that there will be a sequel, it's not that sort of a film, it mainly focusues on the relationship between Micky and Dickie.
It looks okay. Mark Wahlberg is a terrible ****ing actor. He does 2 things. Speak in a really low voice and speak in a slightly louder, but still low voice.
Why arent the Gatti fights in this? I know everyone keeps asking that, but I mean, come on, those are the fights that led to him being a "name" fighter in the first place. This movie would never even have been made if not for those fights
That looks ****ing ace. Can't believe they don't end it with the Gatti fight. I see its more about his early days but holy **** how can you do a biopic and miss out the most iconic moment. Such a shame. I'll still see it, but christ on a bike, if any boxing match deserves to be on film its Gatti Ward I.
this is bull**** if the gatti fights are not in the film. **** me this film would never have been made if it was never for the gatti fights.
