Australian trainer Johnny Lewis will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on June 11 in Canastota, New York. Lewis was born in 1944 in Sydney, Australia. He boxed as a teenager and assumed duties as a trainer at age 17. Lewis guided such notables as Joe Bugner and Paul Briggs, as well as world champions Gairy St. Clair, Billy Dib, Jeff Harding, and Hall of Famers Jeff Fenech, Kostya Tszyu, and Virgil Hill. Others who will be inducted will be: four-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, three-division champion Marco Antonio Barrera, super flyweight champion Johnny Tapia, judge Jerry Roth, journalist-broadcaster Steve Farhood, broadcaster Barry Tompkins and posthumous honorees Eddie Booker and ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Sr.
