Weldon had a national reputation for his work with major boxing figures Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Vinny Paz, Pernell Whitaker, Raul Marquez, Todd Foster, Wilford Scypion, and Termite Watkins among others. He had a close association with the Duva's powerhouse boxing stables at Main Events Inc. He boxed professionally as a featherweight between 1968-1978, compiling a record of 43-7-1, his most well-known opponent being Ruben Castillo, to whom he dropped an 8-round decision in 1977. In 1971, he fought for the NABF Superfeatherweight title, losing to Frankie Otero via a 10-round decision. RIP to another source of boxing knowledge
