If you have an average athlete but want to try to get him to elite status, who would you send your fighter to out of these guys?

Both are respected at their jobs. Diaz seems to be getting more credit for Cotto's last victory than Cotto himself. He seems to have a great resume in Cuba. Roger knows the sport, and him and Diaz seem to have 1 main boxer, which I think is great.

Who can make their fighter better?

If the average athlete is coming from an amateur background - Diaz.
If the average athlete has had virtually no amateur experience - Mayweather.

Although styles will play a massive role also, even more so than the above.

    Both seem to be good.

I know Roger doesn't get much credit for Floyd but Jr isn't no dummy (when it comes to boxing) so I don't think he would keep him around if he wasn't good.

So if you can stand all the profanity I would send them to Roger....he is tried and tested.

I've seen a clip of roger training someone on the mitts once. Condescending as ****. I'm not sure how good a communicator he is, regardless of his undoubtedly expansive knowledge.

Definetly Pedro Diaz. Roger was a better fighter than he is trainer IMO. If it wasn't for Mayweather's ability and talent, he wouldn't have any solid world champions. To tell you the truth, Floyd Mayweather Sr. is a better trainer for Floyd, than Roger is and he was the one who made Floyd Jr. the fighter he is today.

good point. Roger seems very good with working with young athletes. Their style of fighting is something you would need years and years of practice to perfect too.

I would send mine to roger, my fighter would most likely receive the whole may weather experience there, seeing how Jeff, Snr, and Jr., are always about. More likely to get more pointers, and less likely for things to get overlooked with the clan's involvement

I know this isn't a choice and I don't mean to deviate the topic, but if I had to send a boxer to any trainer, it would most definitely be Nacho Beristain, just because he seems to train complete fighters who have all the basics down. Out of the two you mentioned I would probably pick Mayweather.

:good I also didn't want to mention the exposure aspect of the game, just look at lil cash flow - already an Internet sensation, interested in seeing the little dudes development thru the years. Without the may weather's clans involvement, we probably wouldn't know about him for many years to come.

    True.

Why do you spell Mayweather, May Weather?

Nacho is def a respected vet. He's guided Marquez very well. If I had to select one besides R. Mayweather or Diaz I think it would be Floyd Sr.

He was probably using an iPhone or iPad. Mine spells it that way too unless I catch it.
