Manny Pacquiao said when he and his late manager first came to USA..several trainers rejected him and on the day before returning to the Philippines after being rejected by many trainers, Roach welcomed him after 2 minutes in the mitts session. Who are the trainers that rejected the Pacman? Wonder what theyre thinking and feeling right now..:think
Good question... But in all honesty how perfect was Roach for Manny. They helped eachother out beyond anyone's expectations. Good thing Roach became a friend aswell as a shotcaller in Pac's gym life. Only other trainer I can think off the top that treats fighters like family is prob Joe Gooson. (Then again he's prob one of the many that initially passed on Manny)
In middle school, I made fun of this kid relentlessly. He was awkward, wore Polo polos buttoned up to his neck, and "highwater" pants. He tried hard to befriend me. In high school, I found out his dad owned a chain of car dealerships. Kid's body went from skinny geek to natural jock and he turned out to be immensely popular in high school and all the girls wanted him. Lesson: treat everyone nicely! Who knows, if he and I had become best friends, I might just be driving an Audi A3 that I bought for way below invoice.
So be nice to everyone just in case they become 'important' enough for you to use them and take advantage of them? great life advice :good
:huh ... :deal Pacquiao wouldn't be as good as he is with those two guys. I'm glad they passed up on Pacquiao.
