Are there any disadvantages of training 3 times a day occasionly on days off. Like weights, then running and evening boxing training providing im taking in adequate calories? Or will that still be too much even if i eat a high amount of food??
Depends how u train if you go flat out running, you won't be able to lift heavy and your boxing will be sub par. If you do a steady run- lift some weights in a circuit and then do tech at night then you won't be far off how I train although I concede I often do too much.
Yes you do. However - There is no need for you to be working out 3x per day with any sort of consistency.
I agree i was thinking maybe 1 day a week or at most 2 To allow an extra rest day if i take a workout and add it to another day. If that makes sence
Just divide your training schedule into blocks mate. Amateur boxing is a long season and you don't need to be cramming as many sessions into a week as you possibly can.
Not really as you're still doing the work, it's just crammed into a single day. The main problem is as bomber was saying, 3 workouts a day will lower performance in 1 or more of the workouts depending on how you train. You really need to know what you're doing to train that many times per day. You need to work out intensity levels for everything you do. For example: Sprints = Heavy work, kills CNS Light jog = easy work, recovery Strength training = again, heavy work, kills CNS Circuit training = moderate - heavy (depending on you) Boxing training = moderate - heavy (depending on you) You should never really put sprints and strength training in the same day if you want decent results as they are heavy on the CNS, whereas sprints in the morning followed by moderate to heavy boxing on the night could be achieved as long as you don't push yourself too hard. You could also do a light jog in the morning, moderate circuit training in the afternoon then moderate to heavy boxing training on the evening. It'll come down to what you're capable of. BTW, don't go by the example above, it's very inaccurate. TBH, unless you're a pro I really don't see why anyone would train 3 times a day.
