aright people. i train 5 times a week, sparrin, strenght training, working on combinations, defense etc etc, as well as working on stamina and fitness. i do all this and iv definately seen improvements, but i dont think its enough! i dont know why i think this way. can anyone point out what im missing out?
Train 6 times aweek? or maybe take a amateur fight? if your winning you doing something right, if your losing then you know what u can work on and improve.
im starting college again next week, i cant do 6 days. i havnt fought yet, im going to this season though. im gonna dominate who ever steps in the ring this season. ill post the vid if anyone gets any. and also what does it take to get accepted to compete in the olympics? i heard u need like 60 odd wins or something...
Win a national PAL tournament, win or runner up in national golden gloves..you'd have to be pretty renown to make the Olympic trials
if oyu havent fought once yet, then why the hell are you thinking about the olympics? thats just silly and wistful. when i was training a lot and not really improving it helped to tone down the intensity a bit and study techinque during all exercises (padwork, shadowboxing, slip bag, etc.) and just repeat repeat what you know is right, so you get a solid base of automatic skills. if you are just trying to impress yourself you are bound to hit a dead end.
If you dont think its enough then train six times per week or seven. Pretty hard to say whats missing with info you gave
set up a fight. some people train that much, fight once, and never do boxing again. you never know if you truly wanna do it until you have a fight because the fight is a whole different ball game. it aint sparring. its you against another guy whose been doing the same thing and wondering the same thing and will really test you and let you know what you need to improve on and what not.
the 2016 Rio olympics is a long time away mate. on the real though, aleast i got my goals set out pretty early. boxings everything to me, im not doing it for the fame or anything like it. i get what you mean, im gonna fight this season, ill see how it goes. thanks people for the replys
add strength and conditioning to your workout? kettlebells and sledgehammer tyre, chopping wood, squats, deadlifts. go the extra mile thats what makes you great (wlad klit does weight training first 3 weeks of his training regime then he stops it)
if some posts i train strenght , fitness "ect ect ect" then i suggest they look at the organization and planning of their training and the quality. I train 5 times a week, used to train 6-7 but now im fitter and stronger... hows that?
