This is a hot topic in Brazil everytime is discussed.....
Historically team mates didn´t fight, it was viewed as an unimaginable thing.
Nowadays is starting to change a bit, and recently we had Loro vs Dudu Dantas in the Bellator, Dudu won, and both are from Nova União.....
But now Loro is saying a lot of ****, blaming the team, that this should not have happened. That his friendship would never be the same, that this is wrong and etc, etc, etc....
In my view he is a little crybaby ! Why he accepted the fight then ?

Well, anyway, what´s your opinion on this ? Don´t you think we should get over it once and for all ?
How is this viewed in US or UK or any other place ? It creates controversy too like in here ?

    :good

I see why they moan and ***** about it who would like to fight their training bud?
But then they are in the fight game and its not a team sport so if they have to fight they should be made to fight

    NEVER!!!!

It should never happen. I would never fight anyone I actively train with... if you fight and then they join then fair enough. Otherwise no!!!

I wonder if he would be singing the same tune if he had successfully taken the belt that belonged to his friend and training partner. I don't know how he can be upset with Dantas when he was the one challenging for the title.

Yeah, apparently he thought DAntas would take it easy with him...
Well done job , Dantas is better than him anyway.

I think Galvão will leave Nova União, he is very mad with the whole situation...

What if your partner is the champion at your weight ? You would never want the title ? You would just watch others get the chance while you just train for non-title fights......
I can understand what you´re saying Lynch, but it´s a hard situation....

For me it would depend on the coaching structure. I should only assume that if I'm fighting the champion who is part of my "team" that he will get the more focused training, him already being the champion.

I'd simply leave the gym when I got a shot at his title and fight him, not out of hurt feelings but because its a game where the only goal is to be the champ. If you want anything else then you're in the wrong business. I'm not going to let my chance suffer just so I can save face.

That being said, if two friends fight and one acts like a ***** then he should **** off and rot to a slow and pitiful death.

I guess people are not all the same... I enjoy winning but that's not what it's all about to me.

To fight a guy you train with makes you a creonte to me! I have zero respect for guys that do this.

Daniel Cormier is a true man! He would rather move to another weight class than fight his team mate and that is how it should be.

Dana White (and the dumb fans) love to give Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch **** for refusing to fight each other; but, my ass, that Melendez would ever fight Nate Diaz or Shields/Nick Diaz. But they still get viewed as these little hardasses.

Very rare in Thailand, an absolute no no!

Recently Yod vs Kem..... both Fairtex......a disaster. Remember the Contender series 1 when Yod fought Naruepol...again disaster with Naruepol throwing the fight!

    Should never happen.

Well...kinda late for the subject...but in this instance it's complete BS...Galvao wanted what ? Dantas to verbally submit at the beginning of the fight for him to get the belt ??

i think its acceptable in two cases
1 - both fighters are being paid ALOT of money by the company they are employed by
    or
2- both fighters have worked themselves into a position that prevents unification of world titles and are essentially stalling the recognition of the one true champion
    (I.E the klitschkos)

AT the end of the day the sport exists to find out who is the best.. if that means two friends have to fight eachother then so be it, its not like they cant be friends afterwards.
All this talk of "things will never be the same" is just ego talking.

It depends. Some people I trained with I want to fight. Some friends and I started to train together. I would never fight my friend that I coincidentally train with.
