I'd be curious to know what your recommended diet is in the several days leading up to a fight. Mostly carbs.....mostly protein....high fat...low fat? And what about on fight day itself?

There is so much conflicting information out there, it would be nice to get some expert advice!

    Many thanks,

Well you should just eat a balanced meal like always but if you are going to make weight then it's less then normal and if you are fine on the weight just eat.

It's not that hard really tbh. You just eat a balanced meal and watch your weight. That should be the most solod advice.

In truth it's more in the mind than in the body.

Back in Ray Robinson's day he'd drink the blood drained from beef. And guys in those days believed steak was the best prefight meal.

    Later on it became carbo-loading.

I go with Manny Steward: eat what is comfortable. If a guy is used to dining on burgers and fries, let him eat burgers and fries before he fights -- don't force him to eat something he isn't used to, that his stomach might not digest as well.

There is no secret food that is going to get you to fight better.

Obviously if you're cutting weight, start early in your training and don't wait until the last day -- eat less and exercise more.
