Those "wins" are HIGHLY debatable, to say the least. In fact, some would say they were outright robberies to install HBOs latest poster-boy as champ.

It's hard to say what will happen, from an athletic/skill perspective, yeah he could win the title back. I still question if he can stand up to a big shot, and I wonder how his confidence will be going into a big fight. So it's hard to say, but yeah I think he could do some good things, and who knows what he might do. Yeah he's with Dibella.

5 of the 6 judge had him winning both fights, and the 6th had him splitting, that's pretty definitive. I would love to see the case made for either fight being a "robbery", Jermain won 7 of the first 8 rounds of the first fight so what happened after (void a deduction or Knockdown) is irrelevant. The second fight was more convincing than the first, so I'm not sure how one would arrive at that conclusion.

he came at 161 that night but he looked pretty good. in a bigger fight i do wonder if he can really make 160.

Jermain is done at the world level, he could still be a pretty good gatekeeper though.

Of course it's "definitive" - that's what the backing of HBO gets you in this sport. Combine that with Hopkins standing up for himself and other boxers and it's pretty clear that the boxing establishment had it in for him and wanted to advance the latest HBO darling.

Too bad Taylor couldn't hold Hopkins' jockstrap.:deal

Unless JT goes back to fighting guys he is 20 pounds bigger than naturally
like when he was winning with Burns,Than he needs to get back to the man
that made him a future gold medalist not the man that make him a former Bronze Medalist.I remember when I fought Glenn Johnson in the Bahamas ,Burns was in Johnson's Corner running his mouth about stupid stuff.Glenn seemed iterated by him.Obviously after Glenn fired him his career turned around,Glenn must have got some one like Ozell to train him then !

Great post I totally agree. First priority for Taylor should of been to win please the crowd or take innecessary risks second. In all his losses he was doing great at some point, but has brain farts and can't focus enough. I think sometimes he starts way too fast he needs to relax for in there, keep his hands up, work on his footwork, and definitely pace himself so he can finish strong and avoid getting stopped. His biggest weakness is not having any ring generalship and maintaining momentum in a fight he was clearly winning. I'm surprised Steward hasnt figured this flaw out.

The major prob has been the nervous energy/movements that seem to hurt him in relation to gassing down the stretch.

Yeah. He was still swatting that fly from his forehead on Friday. Probably a little too late to learn to relax and see where that gets him though.

Join Ann Wolfe and Kirkland to train. I agree with goodnight on that. He'd be better off training in a barn on a back road in bumpkinville than being around South Beach.
