If you have nothing lines up i think it wouldnt hurt for you to take Sunday off and cut another day or have a light day. If you think you can keep it up though go for it but you might as well give your self one day off with nothing lined up.

Go on on how you feel. If you feel good training with a higher volume of days, then stick with it. Just monitor signs of overtraining(trouble sleeping, increased heart rate, generally more anxious/agitated than usual, etc.) or general loss of interest in training(more of a mental fatigue). I myself do not do well with a lot of breaks or time off, but do back off somewhat for a week or so. I know people who take a week off and are a million bucks, and others who do so for a week with their sport and look awful. One size definitely does not fit all when it comes to any sport, but especially boxing. Hope this helps.:D

Even if your not fighting soon the idea is to be getting better for each fight, by being consistent. both after, before and inbetween fights is what i think makes progress inevitable.

You can do 9 all out 3-minute rounds on the heavy bag?

You must either be extremely fit or you're not pushing yourself that hard in those 9 rounds.

You could try incorporating punch-out drills: 10 rounds of 30 secs. on and 30 secs. off of non-stop punching in each round.

Here are a couple of youtube videos for demonstration:

All out as in punch out drill, no. But high paced working on combinations and such? Easily.

Thanks everyone for the advice, i was only asking because it is out of boxing season and everyone else is not doing any training except 3 times at the boxing gym. But i find that i have the need to train all the time because i dont want to become lazy lol. i normally do sprints but i havent been doing them becuase i will just burn myself out before the season starts again and peak to soon for when i do have a fight coming up. yeah not none stop punching flat out on the bag for 9 rounds 3 mins but it is a high pace.

I guess I need to work some more on my conditioning. I usually gas out after the 5th round. No wonder mofos kick my ass all the time.

Guys at my gym usually squeeze in 1-2 week breaks from training every now and then. You could also just make sure to vary your work-out intensity as in alternating high intensity workout days with lower intensity workout days.

yeah thanks :) i think i might cut a bit of running out once an a while because im 1-2kg under my fighting weight anyway so really i should try and bulk up a little.
